Leeds and District Amalgamated Society of Anglers
How would you like to be part of one of the largest angling associations in England?
Leeds and District ASA now boasts over 2500 members, and over 200 affiliated clubs. We are proud to offer over 30 river venues, 12 lakes, 6 lengths of canal totalling 20 miles, a lively social club which is C&IU affiliated, a busy match program over 52 weekends per year.
We own or part own 18 venues and have recently opened our first true commercial fishery at Kippax Park this includes 2 pleasure/match lakes and a superb put-and-take fly only trout fishery. This is a business partnership with local land owner’s Hirst Farms. We offer a day ticket price concession to our members, and the venue is already becoming one of the North’s favourites. Kippax is within the Leeds boundary and is in easy reach of the motorway system.
We have recently added 3 new river venues, the River Aire fishery at Beal is a 25 peg length that offers good roach fishing and some superb bream catches, A new piece of the lower Nidd at Moor Monkton, The jewel in the crown is Helperby one of the Swales best barbel and chub venues with fish to specimen sizes , this fishery is pleasure only and opens at the start of the 2009 season.
Our venues offer some of the best coarse fishing in Yorkshire, specimen barbel, carp, and pike, with the bonus of good fly fishing on river or lake. Many of our venues are always available to the pleasure angler, and venues that are match fished can be checked for availability through the booking office or the forums match diary.
Night permits are available for our Knotford and Wintersett fisheries.
We also host a strong junior section that is renowned for their success at national level. New members are always welcome and our juniors are always supervised on their outings.
The Anglers Club owned outright by the society is a lively CIU affiliated social club that offers the chance to book a presentation night, any social event, or just come for a drink.
Interested? Then please contact our membership office, or browse our website, where you will find further details.
